If for any reason, you need to reinstall SQL Desktop, please follow
the instructions below. If you do not see the SQL engine icon,
To install, put the Salon CD in your CD drive. You do not have to run
the installation, so just cancel it once it starts up. You will need to open the CD, so double click on My Computer, and
locate your CD drive. It will usually appear right after C: Sys or what
ever your computer's drive name is. Don't double click on your CD drive yet, instead, right click on it
once, and you will see a pull down menu. Select Open (not AutoPlay), and
it will open your CD drive. Once you open your CD drive, you will see a list of files and
directories. Double click on the MSDE folder. Next, you should see a list of files and folders for SQL Desktop. You
may have the default "Icon View" which is on the right hand side above,
or you may have the "List View" which is on the left hand side, above. In either case, you want to double click on the Setup program (Not
the Setup Folder). The folders are listed first, so you want the Setup
icon that has the blue computer and box, and should be the 9th item
listed. Once the setup program starts, it will install SQL desktop and
complete. You may need to restart your computer. After you complete the install, start Salon Operations again, and
select Database Maintenance.
Click Manager Key, and enter your password. This is the master
password, and if you have not changed it, the default is "password"
without quotes. This will enable "re-create database", and go ahead and click that.
This will recreate the database, and you should be able to start Salon
Operations.
, in
your system tray, you will need to install SQL Desktop. The icon may
also appear with a red square instead of the green arrow. If you have
the red square, your fine, the salon software will automatically start
SQL for you, and the red square will turn green.
