Settings Section
This section is dedicated to setting up your shop. You will find your store
hours, cashier options, sales tax, and many more options under this section.

This page is used to setup information about your salon.
| Store Name |
This is the name of your salon. This must match the
name registered for your license key, if you are using a live of 30
day demo key. The store name is encrypted in the key, to prevent
unauthorized copies. |
| Phone, Address, City, State, Zip |
This is your address information at the store. These
values are used when printing receipts if you enable your address on
the receipt. |
| Master Password |
This is the master password for the system, and set
this to something you will remember! When you log into the system
with this password, you will have full access. If you forget this
password, please contact us for information on how to recover this. |
| Skip SQL Server Check at Startup |
This is an advanced feature, that will disable the
check for SQL Desktop (the database) at startup. If you are running
additional computer work stations, you can enable this option on
machines that are not acting as the primary server. |
| Enable Advanced Logging |
Enabling this option will enable additional log
information for support requests. |
| Re-enable Help Screen |
If you choose to disable the help screens, you can
re-enable them with this option. |

This section sets up your tax settings for retail sales. You have 2
tax fields that will be applied to inventory or service items that are
enabled for tax. Typically you will
setup 1 sales tax item, but if you need to apply an additional tax, use
the second tax field. The Tax Name will appear on receipt printouts.

Note: This section is currently under development, but for now, has
only 1 field.
| Don't tax gift certificates |
Enabling this option, will disable tax on gift
certificate items. You may want to set this, if you are including
tax in the total gift card amount. |

| Default Open/Close times |
These are the openning and closing times for your
salon. These values are used to start and end your day on the daily
schedule. If you have employees with schedules are occur before or
after the open and close, the daily schedule will adjust
accordingly. |
| Most Clients are Walk Ins |
Enable this option is a majority of your clients are
walk ins. This will enable default options when booking
appointments. |
| Schedule Time in Blocks Of |
This value sets the smallest block time on your
daily schedule. For example, if you are booking in increments of 15
minutes, set the value to 15. |
| Store Hours |
You can set individual open and close times for each
day. |
| Enable Modem Dialer |
If you have a standard modem installed on your
computer, you can use it to automatically dial the phone for you.
See Phone Confirmation section for
more details. |
| Require Phone Number for Quick Add |
This setting determines whether a phone number is
required when entering new clients from the daily schedule. If you
want to make sure you receptionist collects phone number for new
customers, you should enable this option. |
| Show Customer phone numbers |
Enable this option if you want to allow reports to
show customer phone numbers. You may want to disable this option, if
you are concerned about giving employee access to phone numbers. |
| Referral Types |
This list box allows you to create referral types
used to track referred customers. You can create as many as you
need, for example, friend, cold call, mailing. |
| Client Types |
This list box allows you to classify your customers
based on types, for example, professional, home maker, tanning. |
Register

| Allow Cash, Check, Gift, Credit Cards |
These options determine what tenders you will accept
on the cash out screens. You can also set these on a
per customer basis as
well. |
| Check Policy |
Set the check acceptance policy for the store |
| Allow employee charge accounts |
Determines wether you will accept house payment when
making an employee sale. You can use this option if you want to
track back office sales to employees. |
| Require card info on manual |
Enable this option if you want to track card details
on a manual credit card sale. For example, if you are using an
external credit card processor, but you want to record the
transaction details in Salon Operations, enable this option. |
| Enable Tip Management |
Enabling this option will show an additional section
on the cash out screen that will allow you to track cash tips in a
couple of extra ways. See Cash Out
for more details. |
| Enable Backups from this Computer |
Enable this option if this is your only computer, or
if this is your database server. This option will automatically
backup the database from this machine, and must be set only on one
machine. |
| Backup Directory |
This option set the path to the backup location.
This is a very important operation and there are several ways to
make your data safe. Please contact us for additional options for
data safety. |
| Keep Backup Set for Days |
This value sets how many days to keep backups for.
The default setting is 7 days, which means you will keep at most, 7
days of backups. Any backup older then 7 days will automatically be
deleted. This prevents you from filling up your computer will old
information. |
| Copy backup to remote directory |
Enabling this option will allow you to make an
additional copy of the database, to another hard drive in your
computer, or another computer on your network. This is an additional
option to help protect your data, |
| Backup Database Now |
This button will run the backup process, so you can
test your settings. |
This section allows you to create 4 user defined fields for your
customers and employees. These fields can be what ever you like, for
example, Nick Name.

This section allows you to create and define lists for categorizing
your services. Service Area and Groups allow your to classify what types
of services are performed in certain areas of your salon. These groups
can be used to filter sales and inventory reports.
Resource Types allows you to create additional resources in your
salon that can be scheduled or booked. For example, tanning beds.

Note: To enabled continuous updates for remote scheduling and online
services, you must enable the BroadBand options.

This screen lets you set a logo for your salon. This image will be
used for reports.

This screen let's you customize settings for your daily operation.
Enable Commission on New Inventory Items
Enable this option if you want all new inventory items to default to
commission status.
Enable Employee Security on Updates and Deletes
Enabling this option, will require stylists to enter their password
before making any modifications to their schedules. This prevents
un-authorized access to schedules from other employees. The cashier
login will have access to all schedules if their rights enable employee
access, so their will not have to enter a password.
Require Sold By for Service Sales
Enabling this option will require the Sold By to be set for all cashier
services. By default, newly added services are assigned the cashier, but
enabling this option will default them to the stylist assigned to the
ticket.
Require Password on open cash drawer
Set this option, if you want your employees to enter thier password
before openning the drawer with a No Sale. This is used to track who
opens ther drawer.
Exclude busy or off employees when making appointments
Set this option if you do not want employees who are not currently
available to show up on the Stylist pulldown list.

You can add additional payment methods to the system using this tab.
These card types will appear under the Charge button on the Cash Out
screen, and will allow you to accept payment and track these sales under
the Cash Register reports. You can also add any type of account name
here, for example, if you have your own discount or loyalty card, you
can enter it here, and track sales made with that card. These card types
will appear on the z register reports.
