Waiting Lists and Queues
Waiting Lists and Queues
The Queue is used to manage walk in customers. You can place a
customer into the Queue as a Walk In with a number, Walk In with a Name,
or as an existing or newly created customer. Each queue position is
given a number, and you can choose to print out a receipt with thier
waiting number.
The Queue can be access from the Daily Schedule, and you can select
the next person from the queue, and assign the customer to the next
available walk in stylist. If you used and existing customer, or created
a new customer, thier information will automatically be entered in the
new appointment dialog.
| To access the Queue, from the Daily Schedule, select
Queue from the toolbar at the top. You can enter waiting customers,
or view the current queue from this dialog.
|
 |
| The next dialog is used to enter a new customer into
the waiting queue. You can select an existing customer using the
Find button, or you can just enter a walk in customer. By default, a
walk in customer is assumed. For walk ins, you can just enter the
persons name if you do not wish to keep a customer record. See
Quick Add for an explaination of why you
would not want to create a customer record. Next, you can select
what this customer is waiting for. If they are waiting for the next
available stylist, select First Available. When the daily schedule
is open at the current hour, the next person in queue will be
selected and you will receive a popup notice to call the queue
number. See below for more details.
If the customer is waiting for a specific stylist, select the
stylist in the pull down. When this stylist is available, the next
person in queue for this stylist will be selected.
If you would like to print a waiting number receipt, select the
"Print waiting ticket" check box. If you have a receipt printer
enabled, the number will be printed on the printer, and you can give
that to the waiting customer.
Note: At the bottom left, you will see a window
for waiting queue statistics. Queue depth and estimated waiting times are
show.
|
 |
| Once you have entered in the customer, you will be
given a queue number. If you have chosen to print the queue number,
it will also print on the receipt printer. |
 |
| If you want to access the Queue, or get the next
person in queue, select "Next in Queue" from the Goto menu on the
left. You can access the queue in a number of ways, but if you want
to manually select the next person in queue, use this option. For
additional ways to access the queue, see notes below on Check Out. |
 |
| When you select "Next in Queue", you will be
presented with a dialog about the next person in queue. The next
person will be selected, and you will see the queue number wich was
printed on the waiting slip, and also the time the customer has been
waiting. If you select Yes, the customer information will be used
to populate the New Appointment dialog and the next open stylist
will be selected.
If you select No, nothing will happen and the person will remain
in queue.
Note: If you need to manually update the queue,
select Queue and select View List to manually adjust the queue.
